TJ Jemison and John Tapper, All Learners Network

TJ Jemison is a dynamic and experienced math workshop presenter and educational consultant who works with schools and districts to improve math instruction. He has extensive experience as a special educator, curriculum developer, and math coach who has taught math to all ages from Pre-K to grade 6. He facilitates math professional development sessions across the United States and internationally and is also works with the All Learners Project as the Communications Director and a Learning Facilitator. He is a co-author of a new book on mathematics and children’s literature “Math by the Book”.

John Tapper John was an elementary classroom teacher, math curriculum coordinator and math coach for over 40 years. His teaching experiences range from the two-room elementary school in Vermont where he began his career to his work on the Lower East side of Manhattan. John completed his PhD in Teaching and Learning at New York University focusing his research on teaching methods that support struggling math learners and the effects of poverty on mathematics learning. John has provided professional development on mathematics learning throughout the U.S., Eastern Europe, and Japan. He CEO and founder of the All Learners Network and the author of the award-winning book, "Solving for Why: Understanding, Assessing, and Teaching Students Who Struggle with Mathematics K-8. "

Creating Access and Equity for Students with Disabilities

We are all concerned about the effect of the pandemic on our most vulnerable students. Drawing on their considerable experience in schools and in professional learning in the U.S. and abroad, All Learners Network facilitators John Tapper and T.J. Jemison will lead an engaging session aimed helping teachers work with students with learning challenges. They will share ways to include all students in main lesson instruction as well as ways to differentiate through Math Menu.
